DUELLISTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2010 v.3

[U] Battles
[U] Battles

"As practised from the 11th to 20th centuries in Western societies, a duel is an engagement in combat between two individuals, with matched weapons in accordance with their combat doctrines."

"The Romantic depiction of mediaeval duels was based on either a pretext of defence of honour, usually accompanied by a trusted representative (who might themselves fight, often in contravention of the duelling conventions), or as a matter of challenge of the champion which developed out of the desire of one party (the challenger) to redress a perceived insult to his sovereign's honour. The goal of the honourable duel was often not so much to kill the opponent as to gain "satisfaction", that is, to restore one's honour by demonstrating a willingness to risk one's life for it."

Yes, after a few attempts by others to copy the Duellist Championship, here we present the original one in its 2010 version. To gain "satisfaction", we ask of you to sign up here.

Duellists this year can sign up for free, or "go pro" and pay an entry fee via paypal of 2$ to u-09@live.com (PAYPAL). If you do so, Duellists who finish in top three will win prize cash divided from all entry fees. Get paid for being good at this game. Be a professional!

Enjoy yourselves, and don't forget to upload your videos of each duel here.

Recent Wars Update : [U] beats [NoV] 7 - 0

PHP-Nuke
PHP-Nuke

Far from being a way to get back at anyone in particular or make a point, [U] went to war vs the [NoV] clan recently and beat them 7-0. It is no secret some of us used to part of this clan over a year ago, and we salute [NoV]Frutty's determination to do clan wars now.

This first 4 vs 4 war between the [U] Army and Novocaine was a good one with ZERO space for pointless time wasting arguments. Be this due to new blood in the clan, or simplty new policies, all we can say is we appreciated the fairplay and conduct. [U] may have had the advantage of being prepared for a war with no c bug (despite the occasional faux pas by both clans humourously filmed by [___]WhiteTiger), and NoV was perhaps badly organized, lacking members and holding up the match for a long time, but in the end all went well. Flawless victory. What shall be of the next war? Looking forward to seeing it.

After beating the clan [BB] 5 - 2 in an away match, fortune played us a different tune in the home one where they beat us 3 - 4. Quite evenly balanced so far it would seem in our mutual results. Weird how both clans should lose to such a clan as [LAC] who dare not rematch either since they no longer resort to using cheats. Since this was found out, no result from LAC will be counted.

Round of applause to [BB] for playing a spotless game in the "flame" department and for sharing two last professional* matches with us, although neither clans got paid. Also after much hard work from the 062, 073, D4z family, who showed up at this war with General 06, promotions were deservedly given out recently.

*"professional" : following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: a professional killer.

PHP-Nuke
After a brief delay, the Monthly Clan Duellists Tournament reopens its gates! Find your opponent in this ladder board, and climb to the top with the classic Duellist Championship rules. This will be a pertinent transition towards the Duellist Server that will be released hopefully before this event comes to an end. Good luck to all, and show us what you're made of!

[U] vs [Ask] 5 - 4

PHP-Nuke
PHP-Nuke

After a disastrous few wars vs Ask in the past, we decided we would never do another against this clan (arguing, complaining, the lot). Yet, recently, with the help of a new Ask member, we were able to plan a neutral war on an NB server that would apparently be promising.

[U] BEATS [ASK] 5 - 4

Despite Ask not knowing what GMT 0 was, we finally got the war started an hour later without too many time outs, or complaining. Of course you can't prevent some from being rude/disrespectful when that's part of their nature, but in general things went just about ok with a few /clearchats to prevent the inevitable Ask flaming.
3-3 at the end of the attack and defense rounds. Good match where Ask were leading 3 - 2 before [U] made a swift comeback. The TDM era was the beginning of the flamefest. Avoiding details, and the good refereeing by [NB]Eminich, we actually ended up doing 3 TDMs. [U] won the last two, while [Ask] won the first with the [U] clan playing 4 vs 5 (06 trapped in 99's pyramid object addon to a TDM zone: ironic for an Egyptian). Disappointing to see the match wasn't completed free of childishness, though all is well that ends well.

[U] wins 5 - 4. GG [Ask]
